Jonathon was awarded Fellowship of the Australasian College of Sports and Exercise Physicians recently, having completed all of his specialist training and exams.

Based at Sports Medicine Glengarry, Jonathon has an active interest in the management of concussion and tendinopathy. His particular interests in musculoskeletal diagnosis are hip, groin and exertional leg pain. He has worked at SportsMed Subiaco in 2015-2017 and SportsMed Murdoch in 2016-2017. Jonathon uses ultrasound for both diagnosis and injections and is particularly interested in dynamic ultrasound techniques.

He is an ex-Australian Hockey Player, part of the 2012 London Olympic Squad and represented the Kookaburras internationally in Europe and Asia.  He remains involved in treating hockey players at all levels in Perth, working closely with club and state programs. He has also worked with the mighty Peel Thunder Football Club from 2013-2019 including the team’s first premiership in 2016.

Jonathon has published research in the numerous sports medicine fields. He has been co-author on numerous papers including treatment for popliteal artery entrapment syndrome, management of infraspinatus muscle tears and the relationship between alpha angles and hip range of motion in AFL footballers. Recently, he published a systematic review of the safety of treatments in knee osteoarthritis.
